At Oakdale Public School the children are encouraged to be responsible at all times for their own behaviour – to be independent and co-operative.
The following are the rules we expect your child to obey to ensure their safety and good behaviour. There are five basic rules:
1. Be attentive - Follow staff instructions.
2. Be safe - Keep yourself safe.
3. Be polite – Be respectful and courteous towards others.
4. Be kind - Care for the property of the school, others and the environment.
5. Be honest – Always be honest.
Some additional expectations are that:
- children should come straight to, and return straight home from school.
- children are not to leave the school grounds during school hours.
- children are not allowed in classrooms out of lesson times unless accompanied by a teacher.
This includes the time before school.
- children must stay in supervised areas at all times, unless given permission to leave by the teacher on duty.
- The car park is out of bounds for children at all times.
- bullying, rough, dangerous play or racism will not be tolerated.
Pupil behaviour is closely supervised with a positive, reward approach being used. We aim to have a happy and friendly school with a safe playing and learning environment.
